A little while ago we had a request for a visit to Banksia Park Puppies simply as a day out rather than to tour for the purpose of buying a Banksia Park Puppy.
The request was lovely saying that they have a daughter who just loves puppies and asking if they could come down and spend the day here playing with our Banksia Park Puppies! We thought that was such a lovely thing to do and it of course would benefit our puppies here through additional socialisation, so it was all agreed and a couple of weeks ago they came down for the day.
The day started with a full tour of our property. We showed the group the live in yards, the Agility Park, and through both our Birthing Nursery and our bigger nurseries for the older puppies. This was integral so that the group was fully comfortable with our property and our breeding before they sat down and played with the (cute/adorable/gorgeous/fall-in-love-with) puppies! After this they came down and played in our yard with the puppies for the day and all through the afternoon. They also stopped for a little while (and gave the puppies a break) to sing happy birthday with one of the most AMAZING cakes I’ve ever seen!
Isn’t this AMAZING?! (It was delicious too)
It was a great day. The puppies had a ball and I’m sure they were very tired that night!
At Banksia Park Puppies we really like to show that we are open and transparent, and give complete tours of our property to all potential customers. An added benefit this day though, was not only did the group and the puppies have a good day, we did too, and we met these wonderful people as well!
It was interesting to talk to them too about how some of the girls were in VCE and how they would love to be able to play with puppies during their VCE as it helps with stress. It’s a pity we’re a little bit far away!
Here is a little bit of their lovely email to us the next day, and then a few photos of the day.
“Matt, Kirstin and staff.
We are back in Melbourne now unfortunately and , even though we spent just 6 hours with you there, we will never forget the trip to Banksia Puppies.
As we drove away, Brittany and Jess said , “that was the best day of my life”… Out of the mouth of babes!!. It was exactly as I hoped and imagined.
We thank you so much for the tour and the wonderful relaxing afternoon on the lawn with the puppies. Melissa had the best day and most memorable birthday ever. Her friends were so jealous and are all confirmed for the next visit!! The teens wanted to spend today with you again!!”
Attack of the puppies!
The most amazing cake EVER!
Attack of the puppies!
This was fantastic for the puppies too as well as the group
We had a good play with some of our puppies we’re keeping here at Banksia Park Puppies. One day they’ll be Banksia Park Dogs! Now they want lots and lots and lots of attention due to being in their critical socialisation period. This is where they do all their learning. So in this time we put loads of effort into training them, playing with them, patting them, and in general teaching them to be around people and kids. Here are some photos of these gorgeous puppies – Cuzzie, Muppet, Muffin, Harlow, Harsha, Harper, Poko and Harlee.
Here at Banksia Park Puppies we have recently done a huge refurbishment on our nurseries. If you came for a tour a few months ago, it will look very different to how it did then! We always want to make sure that our mums and puppies are nice and warm, and looked after as best they can be. Before winter arrived on us, we insulated all our nurseries and put new Canara wood heaters through them all. We always had wood heaters in there for the winter months, but now we have lovely new Canaras which also have fans to make sure the heat spreads throughout the entire nursery. This, along with our heated floors, helps mums who are giving birth or pregnant to be as comfortable as possible, as well as new puppies keep warm and toasty during the cold nights and mornings out here in Gippsland. To make our nurseries look even more interesting for our dogs and growing puppies, we even had an artist come in and paint some murals on the walls!
So while you are all snug and warm in your beds, Matt and Colin take it in turns through the cold winter nights to ensure that the puppies and mums are also snug and warm, the heaters are roaring, and the mums are all healthy during labour.
We thought everyone would like to see our agility yard and the fun our dogs have, through the eyes of our dogs! Here is a video for you all showing our Agility yard at Banksia Park Puppies through the eyes of Taylee the Cavoodle!
This is just another way we want to make sure all our Banksia Park Puppy families are thoroughly happy with their purchase from Banksia Park Puppies and Pines Puppies, and another reason we are a World Class Breeding Park.
We had some fun today playing with our newest members to the Banksia Park Puppies family Bailey and Sylvie. Bailey is our chocolate spoodle, and Sylvie is our Blenheim Cavalier. Sylvie kept just sitting on my knee having a cuddle so wasn’t as keen on posing for photos! They both love playing though and were picking up sticks and having tugs of war. They’re so cute! They are both around ten weeks old.
Here at Banksia Park Puppies we have an agility playground and our dogs just absolutely adore it! Here are some photos of us having some fun yesterday playing with our young dogs.
Meet Taylee (red and white cavoodle), Ayanna (apricot poodle), Snazzi (salt and pepper schnauzer) and Ayasha (chocolate poodle).
They were alot of fun and loved running around together with us! Ash, one of our socialisation staff members is in a few of the photos too. She’s in charge of playing with the dogs and puppies all day! They certainly love her for it!
We’re trying to teach Mishka and Meeka to lead, and learn the commands ‘sit’ and ‘down’; all very important for Labradors! Meeka is doing very well in her training and can nearly sit on command now. You’ll see some Christmas decorations in the background – we’ve been having fun putting these up over the last couple of weeks!
