Bringing happiness to our local community

We recently went to Ashleigh House – an Elderly Citizens Village in our local town. We’ve been visiting this house for about 5 or 6 years now. We bring in some of our puppies who are 6-7 weeks old. They are the perfect age to sit on the elderly citizens’ laps and just have a cuddle for an hour or so.

We sit and talk to the elderly citizens and they always look forward to our visits with the puppies.

Dogs and puppies are so good for the sick and elderly, and we can see that when a lady who cannot use her hands for arthiritis pats a puppy, or a man who rarely smiles anymore has a puppy licking his chin and gives a little grin. These things mean so much to these people and their carers, and we are so proud to be connected with this Village and to be able to bring a little joy, and something a little different to the lives of these lovely people.

We’re so very sad that in the future these small moments of happiness which are enormous to these people may be lost due to the unintended consequences of legislation proposed by the Victorian Government (click here to learn more and how you can help).
